Platinum/100%/1000GS Nov Competition

#1
Ok there is no ulterior motive here. I'm totally not making this thread because other forums BigPete has worked on have had similar things as an excuse to get myself to platinum more games... Absolutely not doing that.

So if you earn any platinums, get 1,000 gamerscore on a game, or get all the steam achievements on a title, post it here.

Please ignore any notices that you can earn money on Playstation for getting Silver, Gold, and Platinums by unlocking trophies. Has nothing to do with it. Totally just booting up a common competition Bigpete always has on his forums.

GO!

*Edit*

Winner is me, by default since no one else did it. I guess I'll give myself 0.1 points for My Name is Mayo since I didn't want to count it as an actual game, but since no one else really participated not much I can do.

Round 1 Makai!

I'm not going to count "My name is Mayo" even though I platinumed it. I mean it was a $1 game that gives you a platinum for clicking. Bought it a year ago because someone was upset such a thing existed, platinumed it kinda just to mess with them a little longer.

But I will dishonorably mention it here lol.

Yeah it's a really random game. I find it absolutely astounding that a $1 (full launch price) cross-buy game (which will pay for itself with the platinum to money feature) gets a platinum... but Capcom can't somehow justify a platinum on a $20 game, that holds 6 different games on it, or the new one that has 4 different games, NOR can they justify a platinum on Resident Evil 4, even though 5 and 6 both have platinums.

Again a $1, cross-buy "game" where you click a jar up to 10k times that takes 2 hours, platinum. $20 full on difficult games... can't be bothered....

Have the Platinum Trophy guidelines ever been revealed?

Have the Platinum Trophy guidelines ever been revealed?
Not really and what ever guidelines there were, are completely contradictory. It has to be 100% arbitrary. I mean Mighty No. 9 gets a platinum, but 6 mega man games in a single collection don't? $10 get it, but $20 don't? $1 yes, $15 no? I mean even some $40 Vita games don't have them. Is Lumines not enough of a game? .Hack/GU is 4 games 1 platinum, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 has like... what 5?

Just look at Telltale games. Walking Dead season 1, platinum. Season 2, no platinum, Wolf Among Us, Batman, Minecraft, all have platinums, Sam and Max? No platinums.

There's no rhyme or reason, and what ever "stated" policies exist don't stand up to reasonable scrutiny especially not with $1, cross-buy, clicking goofy indie experiences that have a platinum and no real gameplay other than silly one liners and whip cream titties, and mid life crisis hair band accessories on a Mayo Jar.

It's gotta be if you want it as a developer you can get it. There's no sensible rhyme or reason otherwise.

I think that’s why I like the gamerscore system a bit better. Now they’ve ironed it out to where games are 1000/1000. No more limits on the 200 GS for Arcade Games, which eventually went to 400 GS. It was frustrating at first for sure.

I like the platinum system a bit better because the platinum is something to aim for. Steam achievements don't work for me in the same way that a platinum does, because for a platinum I have something to do the final push for. If it's going to take me 20 hours on Diablo 3 just to get 1 more silver trophy, why bother. But a platinum is worth like another 200 points, and it adds a number to the lowest tally of trophies I have, and then there's the leveling system. That push to put in a game just to get enough points to gain another level.

Maybe I should get the Diablo 3 PS4 platinum while I think about it, but what ever you do, do something. :p

I guess we could help each other get Minecraft 1k GS right?

I actually don’t have the Minecraft 1000 GS yet. I’ve put a stupid amount of time into the game too.

Well I guess since I technically 100% something, I can just give myself 0.1 points and call it a win. Lol

I'm actually kinda close to 100%ing something else that's actually a lot trickier, but I'm still a ways from it. Maybe like 1/4 of the way there on a game that I've put in a good chunk of time into. But I guess that'll be for December.

I know the feeling. I've been playing Clicker Heroes, because I don't have time to do an actual game. Clicker heroes is a spreadsheet game pretty much. you just buy upgrades for characters, then wait for time to pass, then upgrade them again. Then you ascend, to get hero souls, then you use them to get bonuses and redo everything but faster this time, and you just keep going and going and going until you get further, faster, and come out stronger. I should 100% it when I hit level 3600, and the furthest I've gotten is 1600-2000.

When I do have time I play a bit of Mario but I've got like 36 moons. Played like 30 minutes of Zelda.
