So how much are they going to charge for DLC characters, cause to be frank, I'd be much happier with fighting games if extra characters were $1-2.

It will most likely be expensive, but that’s because people buy them. I know with fighting games a lot probably goes into making them though. It’s usually not just a cheap skin.

A small portion of people buy them. Not everyone who likes to play fighting games is a hardcore player.

They really need to just abandon the current model for fighting games and go with a free-to-play model. You can buy currency to unlock them, or you can play one of the free characters, rotate those characters weekly, offer discounts during their free week, add new characters, let people buy their favorites.

Maybe instead of having 100k people playing these games on and off with 30k hardcore players, they'll get 1 million people playing on and off, with 100k people playing hardcore. Don't release a new game every year or every other year with characters that don't exactly cross over, or add an expansion every year or every other year...

That's my opinion. $8 for some characters, and $3 for others, perfectly fine in a Free-to-play game, but how do I know that I'm going to like the $8 character or if I'm better off buying the $3 character, and what's the point of it all? At least if I can earn characters that makes me want to play more and eventually I'm more likely to spend some money.
